Goku, ormanda ufak bir kulübede, ölmüş büyük babası Son Gohan'nın ona bıraktığı dört yıldızlı Ejder Topu'yla yaşamaktadır. Goku, bu Ejder Topu'nu, büyük babası zannetmektedir. Bir gün bu ejder toplarını arayan Bulma adında bir kız gelir ve Goku'ye Ejder Toplarının büyüsünü anlatır;

Bunun üzerine Goku ve Bulma bol aksiyon ve komedili uzun bir maceraya atılırlar ve Ejder Toplarını aramaya başlarlar.
